Late Summer Diet Suggestions

Harvest Time

 

Fruits and vegetables are ready to be harvested. The bounty of the season is all around us, we need only look, take in, and enjoy! 

 

As the Summer yields to Autumn, and the evenings become crisp, we see the harvest shift from sweet, plump fruits, to large round pumpkins.  In order to maintain and build optimal health and energy we should begin to take ina greater proportion of protien rich foods, and a bit more fat.

 

 

 

For meat eaters:

 

  • Whole Grains
  • Beans
  • Fresh Green Vegetables
  • Seeds and Sprouts
  • Some Dairy
  • Increase Fish and Poultry
  • Can some Red Meat

 

For vegitarians:

 

  • Whole Grains with Beans
  • Nuts
  • Nut Milks
  • Eggs
  • Sesame Tahini
  • Sprouts
  • Tofu
